Your Roots, Culture & Values

Much of what feels like personality was learned somewhere first. Your Roots, Culture & Values asks about the home you grew up in, what it valued and expected of you, how culture showed up there, and the places and communities around it, then names the influences you still carry.

What it asks

Your early life: the home you grew up in, what it expected of you, and the places and communities around it.

  • What the place you grew up in was like, and how often you moved
  • Which communities you were part of, and how culture showed up at home
  • What was valued at home, what was expected of you, and how the rules worked
  • What school was like, and which places have shaped you since
  • Three deeper questions, only if you agree to them: money, faith, and how your family talked with each other

Where your defaults come from

Ask someone why they always over-prepare, or never raise their voice, or feel uneasy spending money, and the honest answer is often a house they left decades ago. Households teach rules nobody writes down, and people carry them into work and relationships long after the reasons are gone.

Naming them is useful in both directions. Some are worth keeping on purpose. Others are defaults you would never choose today, and they are much easier to change once you can see where they came from.

Culture and place belong in the same picture. A small town, a big city, a faith community or a family that moved every two years each leave a mark, and a personality type cannot tell them apart.
