Career Toolkit

Career Toolkit is a skills assessment that cares which way each skill is going. You rate what you can do on level, trajectory and how it feels to use, and the result shows the shape of your skills and the ones worth attention.

What it asks

What you can do, how far it has come, and which way it is going.

  • Your skills, taken from your Career Journey, suggested for your occupation, or picked from a list
  • Each skill rated on history, level, trajectory, how it came and whether it drains you or you love it
  • Which ones people come to you for, and which you want sharper a year from now
  • Which you would happily never do again, and one nobody sees on your résumé

Level is half the picture

Most skills lists stop at how good you are. That misses the two things that decide a career: whether a skill is getting better or quietly going, and whether using it gives you energy or costs it.

A skill you are excellent at and dread using is a trap, because it is the one people keep asking for. A skill you love and have let rust is an opportunity hiding in plain sight. Neither shows up on a résumé.

Rating trajectory alongside level turns a static list into a direction of travel, which is what a career decision actually needs.

How Crystal asks it

Inside the product.

  • Five to seven minutes, less when it starts from your Career Journey. Aim for 6 to 15 skills.
  • The result reads your toolkit as a shape, such as T-shaped or broad, and flags skills that are rising, rusting or slipping.
  • Free to take. What Crystal writes from it, including the skill to build next, is Premium.
