First, there was spell-check. Then, there was grammar-check.
And now, for the first time ever, we’re excited to announce the first of its kind, Crystal Writing Assistant: your very own personality check.
Since 2015, we’ve been the software platform that helps business professionals reveal anyone’s natural personality type, using the well-validated personality framework, DISC. Now, we continue to help sales teams understand the natural personality of their buyers, so they can sell adaptively, train new reps, and instill adaptive selling practices amongst their entire team.
Crystal Writing Assistant is an in-email tool that helps you adapt your communication style towards the personality of your buyer as you're writing. It’s the first of its kind to help you cater emails and bring personalization to the forefront of your sales communication.
If you’re a sales rep, think of it as your in-message sales coach, helping you train yourself to prospect with empathy and intention.
If you’re a sales manager, think of it as your virtual assistant, auditing 1:1 emails and streamlining your reps’ communication so you don’t have to.
If you’re a sales executive, think of it as the key to scaling your sales organization, while giving your entire team a universal language that they'll never have to guess about again.

Now that you have an account on Crystal, you can start feeling the power of Crystal Writing Assistant.
Here’s how the writing assistant works:
1. With your email platform up (or through the dashboard), enter the name of the recipient on the sidebar of your Chrome extension. If you know their DISC type, you can manually input it using the DISC wheel.
2. Read the direction, and start writing your email. Each personality type comes with a direction in the lower-right hand corner of your email platform or dashboard, helping you get into the mindset of how to write an email. What you miss, Crystal will catch, highlighting the words and phrases that can be optimized towards your buyer’s DISC type. Crystal Writing Assistant will be your virtual sales coach, helping you pick the correct the nuances of speech and personalize your pitch towards your reader’s personality.
3. Review your highlights. You’ve written your email; now it’s time to see what your coach has to say. Review the highlighted words and phrases with the suggested “remove” or “replace” directions to cater your email towards your buyer’s personality, and tweak the rest as needed. Use the insights to guide you towards more inspiration to personalize your approach even more, if you'd like.
4. Send your email confidently, knowing that you’ve communicated with your buyer in their natural style. Whether they respond or not, you’ll know that you’re contributing to the future of personalized communication, and soon, you’ll start seeing better connections and more email responses.

Currently, we’re integrated into the browser-based versions of Gmail and Outlook. If you don’t have these platforms, that’s okay; use our writing assistant via your free account, which has all of the same features as our integrations.
We see two main pain points in sale organizations:
The first problem is that tailoring a pitch to each prospect is tiresome and time consuming.
Outreach is the first impression you’re providing for your prospects. Sales professionals want to make these as strong as possible, but perfecting an outreach message can take hours of training and tweaking to get it right. In fact, only about 8.5% of outreach messages yield a response.
And the second problem is that personalization can only go so far without the right tools.
Every year, the standard for email outreach gets higher and higher. People want to be spoken to like people, not numbers. And while sales professionals can do their best finding prospects through LinkedIn, there’s only so much personalization that can happen in a message until sales professionals reach a standstill at where they can go.
That’s where Crystal Writing Assistant fills the gap.
Crystal helps sales teams better answer three key questions:
When writing emails and messages using Crystal Writing Assistant, you’re stretching your personalization capabilities to new levels, accumulating key personalization words and phrases that nobody could know unless they have a personality tool like Crystal.
Now, instead of just having a name, job title, and location to work with when communicating, you’ll know your prospect’s expected behaviors, motivators, stressors, natural communication style, and more insights about their needs, wants, and who they are.
You now understand your buyer’s natural personality deeper than ever before.
Now that we know our buyer, let’s turn the focus to you. What are you trying to say? Are you using imagery and descriptive words to a Conscientious type, who’d much prefer straightforward data points? Are you speaking bluntly and straightforwardly to a Steady type, who wants to take time to trust you before becoming your long-term ally?
These are the questions answered when using Crystal Writing Assistant; it’s a directional sales compass for guiding conversations down the sales funnel, helping you tailor exactly what you want to say in a way that your buyer will resonate with, understand, and light up to.
As you write, Crystal Writing Assistant is your step-by-step coach, looking out for words and phrases that will delight or dissuade your reader from connecting further. Our goal with Crystal Writing Assistant is for your to be a more effective communicator. When everyone’s on the same page, and reps speak in the way their buyers want to be spoken to, win rates increase from generating more personal sales emails, creating more urgency, and personalizing the sales process to each and every deal.
Many sales reps come into their work green, working either with too rigid an approach (what we call “The Numbers Game”), or too fluid an approach (what we call “The Wild West”.)
Many sales managers spend hours reviewing 1:1 communication from their reps.
Many sales executives struggle to maintain a consistent buyer experience, lacking a streamlined way of communicating as their team grows.
Crystal guides you into the perfect in-between of this: creating a consistent, agreed-upon approach that embeds into any sales organization.
This way, you’re not changing the way you’re doing work; you’re optimizing and scaling it.
This also solves another fundamental problem: personalization. The age of adding <NAME> to your contacts is no longer; people need a deeper method of personalization, because they fundamentally want to feel a connection with others even more now than ever.
This is what we pride Crystal Writing Assistant on: personalizing pitches towards peoples energizers, stressors, strengths, weaknesses, and communication styles.
All of this comes together into one solution: reinforcing sales training.
Sales organizations now have an option to scale faster, and with more personalization; which for many, never seemed like an option.
All with Crystal Writing Assistant.
