Since 2015, we’ve been the software platform that helps business professionals reveal anyone’s natural personality type, using the well-validated personality framework, DISC. Now, we continue to help sales teams understand the natural personality of their buyers, so they can sell adaptively, train new reps, and instill adaptive selling practices amongst their entire team.

What is Crystal Writing Assistant?

Crystal Writing Assistant is an in-email tool that helps you adapt your communication style towards the personality of your buyer as you're writing. It’s the first of its kind to help you cater emails and bring personalization to the forefront of your sales communication.

If you’re a sales rep, think of it as your in-message sales coach, helping you train yourself to prospect with empathy and intention.

From there, pick your use case. Since you’re using Crystal Writing Assistant, you’re likely using Crystal for sales, so hit Predict personality profiles on the left-hand side to predict your first profile.

Now, copy and paste any LinkedIn profile URL into the search– start with yours, if you’d like– and read through the insights for your first predicted personality.

Now that you have an account on Crystal, you can start feeling the power of Crystal Writing Assistant.

Here’s how the writing assistant works:

1. With your email platform up (or through the dashboard), enter the name of the recipient on the sidebar of your Chrome extension. If you know their DISC type, you can manually input it using the DISC wheel.

2. Read the direction, and start writing your email. Each personality type comes with a direction in the lower-right hand corner of your email platform or dashboard, helping you get into the mindset of how to write an email. What you miss, Crystal will catch, highlighting the words and phrases that can be optimized towards your buyer’s DISC type. Crystal Writing Assistant will be your virtual sales coach, helping you pick the correct the nuances of speech and personalize your pitch towards your reader’s personality.

3. Review your highlights. You’ve written your email; now it’s time to see what your coach has to say. Review the highlighted words and phrases with the suggested “remove” or “replace” directions to cater your email towards your buyer’s personality, and tweak the rest as needed. Use the insights to guide you towards more inspiration to personalize your approach even more, if you'd like.

4. Send your email confidently, knowing that you’ve communicated with your buyer in their natural style. Whether they respond or not, you’ll know that you’re contributing to the future of personalized communication, and soon, you’ll start seeing better connections and more email responses.

What technology is Crystal Writing Assistant integrated with?

Currently, we’re integrated into the browser-based versions of Gmail and Outlook. If you don’t have these platforms, that’s okay; use our writing assistant via your free account, which has all of the same features as our integrations.
