Movie Suggestions By Personality Type

There are millions of movie options across modern streaming services, and it can feel monotonous to scroll endlessly, searching for a movie you might enjoy.

We have a few suggestions to help narrow your choices for a night at home. By knowing your personality type, you can find a movie that fits with your personality type’s natural preferences, which can help you spend less time making up your mind about a movie and more time actually watching it.

Understanding DISC

At Crystal, we use a framework called DISC to help people better understand themselves. DISC classifies personalities into a few categories we refer to as D (dominance), I (influence), S (steadiness), and C (conscientiousness).

By categorizing personalities in this way, we can easily learn more about ourselves and what we naturally tend to like. For example, a warm, peace-seeking S-type (supportive and people-oriented) is less likely to enjoy a movie that involves intense, adrenaline-inducing situations, than a high-energy, competitive D-type. Quick Tip: If you’re reading and wondering what your DISC type might be, look no further than Crystal's free personality test.

Architects (Dc), Captains (D), Drivers (Di), Initiators (DI)

High-energy, intense D-types are likely to enjoy thrilling action movies that give them a chance to experience an adrenaline rush from their own homes. Busy movies that require the audience to be present throughout, leaving them on the edge of their seats are likely to energize D-type personalities most.

Here are a few movie ideas for D-types:

Influencers (Id), Motivators (I), Encouragers (Is), Harmonizers (IS)
